Dripping Springs and Driftwood business news: Dreamland gets disc golf, new dog grooming business gets closer to opening and more

1. The Burke Center for Youth, a nonprofit that provides therapeutic experiences and treatment services, care and adoption services to young men and boys, for Texas children, will celebrate the opening of a new dormitory with a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 9th, Burke Center raised $ 3.1 million over three years to build the new Founders Hall on its 20800 FM 150 ranch property in Driftwood. 2. Desert Door Distillery reopened The Rackhouse, their renovated event space, in May at 211 Darden Hill Road, Driftwood. The space in the Sotol distillery, which can hold up to 75 people, now includes a 6 meter long permanent bar and new doors. It is divided into two areas, the main room and a terrace, which can be rented individually or together. www.desertdoor.com/destillery

3. Dreamland, the outdoor entertainment, arts and recreation venue located at 2770 W. Hwy. 290, Dripping Springs, added a disc golf course in late June. The new outdoor activity complements Dreamland’s existing range of mini golf, pickleball, live music, art, and food and bar service. The 18-hole disc golf course is 42 acres and winds through two miles of playing field. The holes range from par 3 to par 5 and the course lasts approximately 90 minutes. 4. The Happy Hound Pet Salon is expected to be open at 421 Sportsplex Drive, Ste. B, dripping feathers. General Manager Alan Daves said he originally planned to open the dog grooming business around February, but weather and construction delays have postponed the opening into the summer. In addition to the care services, the location will feature a storefront of treats, groceries, toys, CBD oil for pain relief, and more. A website has not yet been set up. 512-587-6297.

5. Mark Handley, State Farm Insurance Agent, celebrated his 20th anniversary in Dripping Springs on June 1st. Handley relocated its office to a new location at 701 W. Hwy in 2020. 290, St. 300, Dripping Feathers.
