Greenville Area Dog Club dog training classes start Mar. 9

GREENVILLE – The benefits of having a trained dog are many and varied. From the moment you get your new puppy or dog, you start to shape their personality and habits, both good and bad. The benefits of training your four-legged buddy from the start will bring you both happier and more fulfilling lives. If you have a puppy, training classes provide the experience your puppy needs to develop interaction skills with other puppies, with people, and in a new environment. Puppy socialization has been shown to be critical to the mental health of adult dogs. Puppy classes provide the opportunity for this important facet of raising your puppy.

Training courses provide dog owners with the skills and knowledge to deal with usual normal dog behavior, starting with the puppy – behaviors such as house training and chewing. Regardless of what age you start training your dog, basic training is the foundation for any activity, behavior, or job your dog is supposed to do. The training teaches dogs the basic good manners that we all want, from greeting them politely when guests arrive to walking nicely on a leash to coming when someone calls you. A trained dog is a full family member – what a gift for everyone. A trained dog takes part in company, goes to the children’s sports games, camping, goes to friends and relatives, goes hiking, goes swimming and everything else the family does together.

The training allows you to choose from a wide range of activities and dog sports that you can participate in and enjoy with your dog, such as doing fun and philanthropic things. Exercise has been shown to be the most important thing that keeps your dog in their home forever. The training builds your mutual bond, strengthens your partnership and enriches the relationship you share with your dog – is there anything better? Having a trained dog is a pleasure for you and your dog.
