Puppy returned to Latin recording artist after it was taken from West Miami-Dade animal clinic – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports
WEST MIAMI DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – A puppy was returned to its owner after a woman was caught on a surveillance video that brought him from a veterinary clinic in West Miami-Dade.
Panda, an 8 week old Pomeranian, was found safe and returned to Lenier Mesa, the dog’s owner and a Latin American recording artist, on Tuesday evening.
Mesa posted on his Instagram page that the puppy will be examined by a veterinarian the day after being admitted. He said the woman who took the Pomeranian gave the puppy to a homeless person who then handed the animal over to the veterinary clinic.
Before the puppy was brought to safety, a surveillance video showed a woman pulling the puppy out of a box, hiding it under her shirt, and walking out the front door. The video was first posted on Only In Dade’s social media page.
“I just want to say to the lady and everyone who knows her: just give the dog back. Nothing will happen, ”Mesa said through a translator. “I’m not going to call the police. Just write to me privately and just give the dog back to me. There won’t be a problem. We just want to give the dog back. “
Mesa had offered a $ 1,000 reward for panda’s return, but it is not yet known if the money will be given to the homeless.
No arrests were made in connection with the puppy’s disappearance.
