Reward offered for information on abused East Haven puppy

The puppy was found to be extremely dehydrated, emaciated and with bruises on its legs.

EAST HAVEN, Conn. – Answers are sought after an emaciated puppy walks the streets of East Haven.

The East Haven Animal Shelter said that at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, an animal control officer was called to the Sylvan Hills Road area to report a stray dog.

When they got there, the officer found an emaciated male pit mix. The dog was taken to the emergency vet who gave it IV fluids because of extreme dehydration. The shelter said the vet estimated the dog to be only 6-9 months old and was constantly being created due to severe bruises on its body.

A $ 1,500 reward is being offered between the East Haven Animal Shelter and animal rights advocates Desmonds Army for any information leading to the puppy’s owner’s identity.

The shelter said the puppy is “as cute as possible” despite everything he’s been through.
