PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A small puppy sustained minor injuries on Saturday evening after several vehicles and a boat caught fire.
The Phoenix fire says it happened around 10 p.m. near 7th Street and Broadway. The fire department arrived on site after reports of flames and smoke from a house were reported. The crews found a large property with about seven vehicles and a burning boat. When they got there, Phoenix firefighter David J. Ramirez said the fire had spread to an RV and another house nearby. In addition, a power pole burned nearby. The crews were able to bring the fire under control even in difficult winds.
The residents were able to free themselves safely before the fire brigade arrived. However, after most of the fire was extinguished, the crews found a small pup that belonged to the residents. The puppy suffered minor burns and is being treated by a veterinarian nearby, Ramirez says.
Fire’s Crisis Response Team is working to help the five displaced people – two adults, three children. No residents or firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
